It is interesting that Belarus is seeking closer collaboration with Indonesia in livestock production. Indonesia since the late 1960’s has achieved great success in disease eradication, development of a world-class intensive livestock sector, as well as building strong relationships between smallholders and large processors. The Indonesian “nucleus-plasma” model works well in peasant-based systems and Georgia could likewise gain a great deal from studying these development models.
